Mel Hofmann is a mixed media artist born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She studied fine art textiles in 1975 at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. She received a BFA in fine art textiles in 1996, from California College of the Arts in Oakland. Her work has been included in compilations such as Fiberarts Design Book #7, published in 2004 by Lark Books. In 2000, she also received an award certificate from the Teagu Textile Design Federation in South Korea; her work and an announcement of the award was featured in their Fashion Festival publication. Mel has sold 7 framed digital art prints to Lifescan Inc., a Johnson & Johnson company, for decor in their conference room. She is currently focused on painting mixed media pieces which include mediums such as acrylic and textile fabrics, as well as other materials.
