Adena Ishii | City of Berkeley Mayor
Mayor Adena Ishii, elected in 2024, is Berkeley’s first Asian American and first woman of color to serve as mayor. A UC Berkeley alum, she previously led the League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, and Emeryville, focusing on civic engagement and diversity. She has served on the Berkeley Unified School District Reparations Task Force and champions equity, community connection, and local sustainability. Residing in South Berkeley with her family, Mayor Ishii is dedicated to building a more inclusive and thriving Berkeley.
Richard K. Lyons | UC Berkeley Chancellor
Chancellor Richard K. Lyons, a proud UC Berkeley alum, became the university’s first undergraduate alumnus to serve as chancellor since 1930. Before stepping into the role in 2024, he spent a decade as dean of Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and later led campus innovation and entrepreneurship efforts. Passionate about fostering creativity and collaboration, Chancellor Lyons is dedicated to strengthening Berkeley’s role as a hub for world-changing ideas and community impact.
